 Group 1

For our first project presentations we had groups 1-3 present different aspects that go into public speaking. Group 1 was made up of 11 members including Aizada, Anett, Camila, Daleah, Danielle, Danny, Darelys, Debora, Diego, Emily, and Carlos. They presented the iSpeak's chapters 1-4 The overall idea of group one's presentation was how to prepare and present your presentation and how to correctly analyze the audience. Danny started off the presentation by explaining the worst case scenarios that can occur when presenting and the importance of public speaking. I learned that it can bring many important opportunities to your life and teach you many life long skills that you can later use at your job or when working in a team. Emily proceeded to follow with the seven important components of communication which are; a message-sending source, presenter, or speaker. Listening classmates, audience members, or receiver. Message: Please adjust your language and thoughts to this audience. A channel or method of communicating your message.Feedback is the audience's comments. An instance: the setting in which the presentation takes place. Noise is any sort of message interference. Melany did a great job explaining the meaning of plagiarism. She compared plagiarism to stealing and being a thief. It’s important to use quotations when citing from a book and correctly paraphrasing to avoid plagiarism. Understanding attention apprehension was interesting. conversation apprehension is an individual's level of worry or anxiety connected with either real or simulated conversation with another person or persons. CA symptoms include sleepiness, stress, hesitancy before presenting, and "interfering. task thoughts" while presenting. Having "off-task thoughts"losing focus on presenting your message to your audience, as well as sweaty palms, trembling knees, and "cotton mouth." She then proceeded to explain six different ways in which you can reduce anxiety. That was acting confidently, knowing your subject, caring about your subjects, seeing classmates as friends, seeing yourself as successful, and practicing for confidence. I enjoyed hearing Daleah’s explanation on your first time presenting. Darelys followed up by explaining the roots of rhetoric. Overall I enjoyed group one’s presentation on Chapters 1-4 and I enjoyed looking at all the nice pictures they included.

Group 2
I presented along with my fellow peers chapters 5-9. My group included Gioana, Harlington, Helen, Jahaira, Jenelle, Jessica (me), Jordan, Kenlif, Latara, Lizbeth, and Cassandra. Cassandra started off the presentation by explaining why you’d benefit from research. She also explained personal experiences and how it ties unit public speaking. Kenlif went into protecting against bias. They used the analogy that the comparison of entities that are otherwise unrelated yet are similar in some ways, often in location or function. For instance, there are moments when I feel like a chameleon on campus when I'm wearing pants. I don't wear jeans because I blend in with the surroundings—trees, limbs, rocks, or other vegetation—but rather because I do. The principle of subordination allows you to indicate which material si more important and which  important through indentation and symbols. The principle of subordina-
tion si based not only on the symbols (numbers and letters) and indentations, but also
on the content of the statements. The subpoints are subordinate to the main points,
the sub point are subordinate to the sub-points, and so on. The issue-solution structure, which shows a problem and a remedy, is more frequently employed in persuasive presentations than in informational ones. It is difficult to convey the topic clearly without putting it in a context that suggests your own opinion—a perspective you want the listener to adopt. He also explained that the manuscript delivery method refers to when a speaker prepares their entire presentation in advance and uses that text to deliver their speech without having to memorize it. When a presenter needs to be accurate, avoid mistakes, and defend every word, it is most helpful. Then came my turn to present. I was a bit nervous as this was my first time presenting in front of others. I presented half of chapter 7 which was adjusting your rate to content , audience, and situations.

Group 3
In group 3 Lose, Melany, Migdony, Naymaris, Olivia, Rocio, Samantha, Stephanie, Valeria, Alanis, and Chabeli. They all presented chapters 10-12. Naymaris started the presentation explaining According to the first rhetorical principle, you as the informative presenter must demonstrate to the audience how you are related to your subject. The audience should be introduced to the topic early on in the presentation to ensure their interest and comprehension. This is the second rhetorical guideline of an informative presentation. Chabeli then explained the five principles of learning to apply to the audience. They were; Build on the known, use humor, use sensory aids, organize your information, and reward your listeners. She also explained the five skills for informative speaking. They were defining, describing, explaining, and demonstrating. Their presentation was very well put together and organized. I took away from all of today's presentations that preparation not only makes us better presenters but also enables us to be successful, hold the attention of the audience, and enjoy ourselves. Not every action we take needs to make us anxious. I am aware that many of my classmates detest giving speeches, especially in front of such a large audience. A excellent thing to do is to step outside of our comfort zones. I've discovered that it's much simpler to express yourself, seem professional, and deliver than when you just wing it when you have at least the majority of these recommendations or incorporate the guidelines into our presentation. I'm curious to see how this knowledge will affect our next talks and presentations. There is so much more that goes into public speaking besides simply speaking. Factors like understanding your audience, adjusting your rate of speech to even simple little things like formal attire. Knowing that I was going to present with my amazing classmates made me more comfortable in knowing we’d do a good job. My group was very organized and I’ve really enjoyed working with them and to continue doing so in future projects. Overall everyone did an amazing job with their presentations and hearing professor’s sinkoff’s feedback really helped me for my future presentations. I enjoyed working with my classmates and feel more confident for the next time we present!
