Latara Bain Presentation Summary of Blogs

One of the best ways to stay organized when displaying information is to create a presentation.A presentation is a summary of important ideas of a topic  conducted by research.Additionally, it consists of pictures, words, and videos.  I am currently a second year student at Miami Dade College. I am pursuing a degree in Computer Science. One of the three classes that I am taking this semester is Introduction to Public Speaking or SPC 2608-2235-5988 by professor Sinkoff. Our first major assignment was to create a PowerPoint or Google slides presentation using only pictures or videos. The pictures or videos are supposed to explain the topic and it has to be self explanatory. To execute this presentation , we were placed into three groups divided by at least eleven of different classmates together. Each classmate or group  was instructed to complete at least three sides of the presentation. The presentation was divided by the different chap...

Jahaira Treminio     I want to start by saying two things, the first is that one day before the presentation I was super nervous because in my life I have had groups of not so good colleagues who are not attentive to their work. I was a little nervous about not being able to achieve my purpose, but I quickly realized that I was in one of the most judicious groups that I could have been in my life at this point. I am completely proud of the group that we are, the potential that human beings can have when we put something into our heads is something wonderful, helping us as a group was the most beautiful experience I have had as a human being, I can say that this first presentation has been one of the best that I have been able to be there and enjoy, firstly because it was extremely creative because it gave us the opportunity to play with images, videos, memes and that made it interesting and fun at the same time. Each presentation of my classmates kept us attentive an...

I want to start off by saying that I am thoroughly impressed and totally in awe by my fellow classmates during their presentations, as it takes a certain amount of dedication and teamwork to complete and give such long presentations, especially since they were given virtually. Throughout the presentation I felt that i had been learning the most essential parts of the chapters that were being presented in just a small amount of time, and in a fun and engaging way, might I add. What would have been weeks of reading and knowledge was compressed into a one class period, in the most fun way possible. The group assignment really opened my eyes to the goals and intentions of the class, and since this class is only a few weeks long it makes total sense; since, the point of the assignment was to inform everyone on the key point and basics of this course. This course intends to teach us why and how to give presentations and speeches, and it was quite clearly shown by the group...

Group 1 For our first project presentations we had groups 1-3 present different aspects that go into public speaking. Group 1 was made up of 11 members including Aizada, Anett, Camila, Daleah, Danielle, Danny, Darelys, Debora, Diego, Emily, and Carlos. They presented the iSpeak's chapters 1-4 The overall idea of group one's presentation was how to prepare and present your presentation and how to correctly analyze the audience. Danny started off the presentation by explaining the worst case scenarios that can occur when presenting and the importance of public speaking. I learned that it can bring many important opportunities to your life and teach you many life long skills that you can later use at your job or when working in a team. Emily proceeded to follow with the seven important components of communication which are; a message-sending source, presenter, or speaker. Listening classmates, audience members, or receiver. Message: Please adjust your language and thoughts to thi...

Cassandra Barril  When I first thought about how or what I was going to do my presentation on I was clueless about the amount of work and research goes into perfecting a speech. I enjoyed my fellow classmates’ presentation because I learned a lot about ways to make giving a speech easier. The core ideas and abilities required for effective communication and giving speeches with impact are included in the foundations of public speaking. The following are some essential elements of public speaking. Confidence-building is essential for public speaking. Have confidence in your skills and abilities. Make sure you're well-prepared, practice your speech, and concentrate on presenting your argument strongly. Recognize the characteristics, interests, and degree of education of your audience. Your speech should be modified to speak to their wants and problems. Use words and examples that your audience can relate to engage them. Your speech's aim should be made very clear. Is it intended ...

On Tuesday, May 16 my class and I had to present on the certain aspects of what a good speech is and what are the essential things to include when delivering a speech. I was surprised by how much I was able to learn. I realized that it’s not just talking but instead its communicating, the effect our words have are powerful on others, the usage of words, the pronunciation of words, and our body language. I was able to understand the importance of a good speech from many different aspects from my fellow classmates. They delivered great presentations and articulated themselves very clearly, I look forward to seeing them present again. I gained a lot of tips from my classmates, and they provided great examples of what they were conveying. Stating that, I really enjoyed how when they were speaking it didn’t some long and boring, instead they actually tried to interact with the class and get down to a more personal feel by giving examples of what some of us may experience in college. H...

Jennelle Cruz Starting off with group one, they did their presentation on chapters 1-4 which was pretty much giving us the basics on presenting and preparing for our presentations. I liked all the colors of their PowerPoint and the cute little characters and pictures that they had through their presentation, which really helped me maintain my attention on their presentation since I get distracted so easily. We hear about how some people can get nervous (enough to question if they will die) during their presentation. This is usually my first thought before I present but they reassure us that there is not really a way of dying during a presentation unless we are in a country that outlaws freedom of speech and we speak out on something- it’s comforting to hear that my nervousness is for no legitimate reason and I’m actually just over thinking. We learn about the 7 components of a presentation and how important it is to pay attention to all of them. The pictures they put in their pres...
